Welcome to the Primitive People art exhibition at the Frankfort Illinois Public Library (USA). I am overjoyed to share all of my artwork in this solo exhibition, depicting a variety of indigenous women from all over the world. The start of this show was a real curiosity to spend a few month learning about my Native American, Mexican American, North America and Middle America cultures. I found so much more than I had ever dreamed I'd find. Isn't it fun to learn about your ancestry? It is an exciting journey, personal and different to every explorer. It was also fun to learn about the many tribes of the world! Tribes I had no idea ever existed! I spent months reading books, sifting through vintage photos and soaking up as much about the many cultures from here in the USA all the way to Canada, the Amazon and Australia's Aborigines. Each tribe is unique and their striking adornments and clothing were a real treat to view.
Each painting is not one woman from one tribe, but many women from many tribes. Each painting is a culmination of symbolism that I personally found interesting. For instance, one of my paintings is a Native American woman, with a pink background, holding an African basket on top of her head & wearing a necklace from the Aztecs. I decided to put my findings into a spectacular art exhibition where I could show the many beautiful women from past and present! I hope you enjoy viewing my artwork.
