Adventures in Portraiture
Paint alongside me through 6 colorful mixed media portraits in this self-paced online class. We'll explore a variety of subjects including different ages and ethnic backgrounds, using acrylic paint, inks, collage, and expressive brushwork on canvas and art journal pages.
This is a self-discovery painting course for anyone who loves painting faces or has always wanted to try. No experience necessary. Just bring your curiosity.
Includes 14 video lessons, a PDF guide, and 2 years of access from the date you register.
How It Works
1. Register on Etsy Purchase the class through my Etsy shop. It's quick and easy.
2. Check Your Email Within 24 hours you'll receive a welcome email with your passcode and everything you need to get started.
3. Start Painting Return to this page, click each video lesson consecutively from 1 to 14, enter your passcode, and paint.

After registering on Etsy you will receive a welcome email within 24 hours containing your passcode and instructions to access the videos. Be sure and check any spam folders to be sure it didn’t get filtered into there.

Gesso (black or white)
8x10, 9x12, or 11x14 canvas (any brand, any style)
Watercolor Notebook or an Art Journal of your choice
Mod Podge or Matte Medium (glues)
Old credit card, pottery tool scraper, variety of palette knives
Latex or rubber gloves
Collage papers (any variety)
Stencils (any variety)
Paint brushes (inexpensive variety pack)
Old jar or cup to hold water
Old rag or discarded t-shirt to wipe paint off
Water spray bottle
Masking tape, cookbook holder, or cell phone stand to hold up your reference images while you work
Black & White charcoal sticks, smudging stick
#2 Pencils, Stabilo brand pencils, rubber eraser
Liquitex Inks or India Inks (variety of colors or one color)
Paints, any colors or brands you'd like, including white, black, pinks, yellows, blues, greens, reds, oranges, please pick out your favorite colors and a few extra you'd not normally choose! Some notable brands: Folk Art paints, Golden, Liquitex.
